La neuf, (Marais)
The silent streets of the Marais, in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, have always been one of my favorite places to paint. Number 9, a quiet home there, possessed a serene charm that truly inspired this particular painting. I have faith that someday I will get to reside in one of these quiet little homes—if only for a few months—to soak in more of the city, to draw its shapes, move about its colors on some canvas, and reflect deeply within those peaceful surroundings.
