While living in Paris with my Uncle after graduate school, I made as many works on paper as possible. I walked around all day and the lovely Parisians graciously walked around me as I sat on a pillow to soften the feel of the cold hard cobblestones of many of the streets. Paris Street is based on one of the many photographs that I took during that long stay and this is one of the versions I have created. This is the largest of them all, thus far. I never tire of painting that marvelous city in which all pressure and ambition ceased for me. I was able to be, to look and to enjoy the reflection of light off the white buildings.
Oil on canvas, 54x42”
