Paris Street
While living in Paris with my uncle after graduate school, I immersed myself in creating numerous works on paper, inspired by the city’s vibrant energy. I would spend entire days wandering the streets, settling onto a pillow to soften the cold, hard cobblestones as the gracious Parisians moved around me. Paris Street is drawn from one of the many photographs I captured during that unforgettable stay. This version is the largest I’ve created to date. Painting this marvelous city never ceases to inspire me—a place where pressure and ambition fell away, allowing me simply to be, to observe, and to savor the delicate reflection of light off the iconic white buildings.
Oil on canvas, 54 x 42"
