The Villanova Legacy Collection

When commissioned to create drawings of Villanova's campus buildings, I was honored. I knew these gorgeous stone buildings! The spires on St. Thomas Church are trumpet blasts and this was going to be fun.

Walking the campus reminded me of the great cities of Europe. In my studio, I mixed my colors to Villanova Navy Blue (#00205B) and the project unfolded. Architecture mesmerizes me because I feel the flesh and spirit under the stone and metal. The glass reflection of Widger Law versus the swift curve of Bartley: entirely different, yet each with its own energy.

When the University acquired the 14 original watercolor paintings, my desire to share the work only deepened. As a lifelong Catholic, having my art included in Villanova's collection holds profound spiritual significance. I am truly grateful for this beautiful home for my work.
