Paris Street is a statement painting for someone who loves color and loves the city. One of my largest works in the Paris series, I created this from a photograph I took while living in Paris with my uncle after graduate school. I spent my days walking the city, sketching on paper, and sitting on a pillow to soften the cold cobblestones as the gracious Parisians passed by. This Paris street scene painting captures the quiet magic of those afternoons—the soft light reflecting off the white buildings, the sense of peace that replaced all pressure and ambition. I feel the Fauves and the Impressionist painters in this canvas, as I love their city so.
